Yikes, panic. Did I do wrong going into dropshipping? What do you suggest for us in the UK for the new year? At the moment I’m making good money with my drop-shipping stores but that will come to an end on 1st Jan 2021. That’s the date that the low-value allowance for non VAT on imports comes to an end. From 1st January every item, no matter how low in value will be VATable on import. So my fishing tackle shop which sells a lot of stuff under £15 will see my customers being charged 20% import Vt and £8.00 Royal Mail admin fee. That £8.00 spool of fishing line that customers paid for will not be delivered next year unless that also pay £1.60 Import VAT plus £8.00 Royal Mail admin fee. It’s going to kill dop shipping in the UK.
